Psst … Lucy Liu was not the first female Watson.

Meet Mildred Watson, a psychiatrist from the 1971 film They Might Be Giants (the source of the band’s name).  She finds herself responsible for a mental patient who believes himself to be Sherlock Holmes.

Mildred is clever, strong, and ballsy as fuck.  And she is sick of this guy’s shit.

So I don’t wanna hear anything about ‘Elementary’ ‘doing it wrong’ by casting Watson as a woman.  It’s worked before, and it works again.
